Workers' Minimum Wage To Rise By 12 Per cent

President Uhuru Kenyatta has raised workers minimum wage by 12 per cent.

The president was speaking during the Labour Day celebrations in Nairobi where he acknowledged the efforts of workers in improving the country's economy.

The president added that the government was working to improve working conditions for all Kenyans.

COTU had previously asked for a 20 percent increase in workers minimum wage saying that workers were finding it hard to cope with the low salaries given that the cost of living had risen.
