Kill Isiolo Gun Criminals, Order Issued

Isiolo County Commissioner George Natembeya,  has issued stringent orders against anyone found with an illegal firearm in the County.

Speaking on Friday during a peace meeting in Isiolo, Natembeya directed police to shoot and kill any person found in possession of illegal weapons that pose great danger to the community.

“We don’t want to experience what officers in Baragoi went through.” Natembeya stated.

The Commissioner further warned those selling the outlawed weapons, that they would face the law if they did not quit the illegal trade.

He added that investigations were underway to apprehend suspected businessmen engaging in the illegal sale of firearms.

Natembeya encouraged the community to hand over the guns to the relevant authorities before a major disarmament exercise kicked off in the area.

He told the community prone to cattle rustling, that areas believed to be hiding firearms had already been marked.

The order follows instructions to the community from the Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery, to surrender the firearms which nobody hearkened to.
