'Possessed' Businessman Found Dead With 7 Guns

Police in Nairobi have recovered seven guns from the house of a businessman who committed suicide along church road, in Nairobi's Kileleshwa estate.

Confirming the incident Kilimani OCPD Peter Kattam, stated that police recovered two rifles, a revolver and four pistols from his bedroom that were all loaded with ammunition.

57-year-old Abdul Rasul, who was a licensed gun holder, is said to have shot himself in-front of his guard at around 8am on Monday.

According to the guard at the residence, prior to his death, the deceased had summoned him inside his house where he complained of being tormented by "intruders within his body".

The guard noted that his employer pleaded with him to order the “intruders” to leave his body, before Mr Rasul reached out for his pistol and killed himself.

“He asked me to remove the intruders who were disturbing him or else he would shoot them. As I wondered what he was saying, I saw him reach for his gun and shot himself once,” the Standard quotes the guard.

According to the family members, they were surprised by how the deceased was issued with the firearms, citing that he had been suffering from depression for the last 12 years.

The late had divorced two years ago with his ex-wife who then relocated to the United Kingdom where she lives with their children.

Police have since launched investigations into the matter to establish why the man was in possession of all those guns.
