Ben Gethi, Linked to Sh 719M NYS Scandal Speaks Out

Ben Gethi, the 31-year old man linked to the Sh791 Million loss at the National Youth Service (NYS), has finally spoken out on the allegations against him that hit headlines this week.

In a television interview on KTN's Jeff Koinange Live, Gethi revealed to the nation what many did not know about him. He said that his main motivation to appear on the show was to bring to light the true Ben Gethi.

Gethi revealed the following 9 'facts' about him:

1. His full name is Benson Gethi Wangui. He said that he carries his mother's name because he loved her very much.

2. Gethi is 31-years old.

3. He is worth Sh3 Billion, an amount he asserted came mainly from his company.

4. Gethi is a father of one but does not have a wife. He however noted that he had a girlfriend.

5. The Billionaire lives in an apartment at Parklands, Nairobi.

6. During the interview, Gethi said that he supplies fuel and food to the NYS. He has worked with the department for 5 years.

7. His first tender with the NYS was worth Sh500,000.

8. He went to St. Mary's Boys School, Nyeri.

9. His high school schoolmate was the author of the article that was published on a local daily, claiming how he used Sh791 NYS money.

Gethi firmly denied the claims connecting him to the Sh791 Million allegedly stolen at the NYS citing: “I have done nothing to do with the Sh791Million, none of my companies has been associated and I have stated that clearly. I believe that the courts will prove who stole what.”
