NTV's Janet Kanini Finally Beats Cancer

NTV show host Janet Kanini Ikua, who has been battling Lung Cancer for months now, has been declared cancer free by her doctors in India.

An elated Kanini on Friday took to Facebook to share the wonderful news with her followers saying that after a PET-MRI scan, cancer elements were not found.

“The cancer lesions that had been in my liver, bones, abdomen, lymph nodes and lungs are gone, ” read her post in part.

She revealed that the results also shocked her doctors who indicated that surviving stage four cancer was truly a miracle.

“They said that many people must have been praying for me because these results are rare in a stage 4 diagnosis, and I told them, Yes. I have a prayer army,” Kanini said.

The journalist expressed her gratitude to God for redeeming her from cancer and also thanked everyone who stood with her during the most difficult moments of her life.

Last year, Kanini revealed on her Facebook Page that she had been diagnosed with stage four Lung Cancer after months of struggling with the symptoms unknowingly.

The mother of two was receiving treatment for Deep Vein Thrombosis but when she went to India the doctors revealed that she also had cancer.

After her sad announcement, Kenyans came together under the campaign #IStandWithJanet which helped raise funds to support Kanini and her family.

She promised to use part of the proceeds from the fundraiser to help the children cancer unit at the Kenyatta National Hospital.

A hopeful Kanini now vows to use her experience to support cancer patients.
