Three people have been killed as warring groups in Nairobi's Mathare slams engaged in fierce battles on Tuesday morning.
The deadly confrontation took place in Mlango Kubwa area where the two groups staged the clashes leading to the death of the two.
Trouble is said to have erupted after police freed a man who had been arrested for allegedly stabbing a friend, prompting reaction from an infuriated mob. The irate crowd descended on the released suspect killing him on the spot.
Supporters of the deceased then retaliated by attacks that have since led to the death of three people with several others injured.
