2 Police Officers Beaten by Mob After Robbery

Two Administration Police (AP) officers are nursing serious injuries after they were attacked by members of public following a botched robbery in Nairobi's Kamulu estate.

Constable Mohammed Hussein and Joshua Lee Odimbo were allegedly in a gang of four that had gone to steal at one of the residential houses when an alarm was raised.

One of the residents said that he heard screams from the homes and noticed four men running away from the house. He then reportedly pursued the gang which attacked him hence sustained head injuries.

Shortly after, residents responded and nabbed the two officers before beating them up.

Security agents were called in to rescue the officers from the angry mob and rushed them to the Kenyatta National Hospital.

Confirming the incident, Kayole OCPD Ali Nuno said the officers were not on duty and were on a suspicious mission.

“They were not in uniform and had no identification and we suspect they had gone to commit crime,” affirmed Nuno.
