CID Boss Discloses Details of Lawyer Willie Kimani Murder Probe

The Director of Criminal Investigations Ndegwa Muhoro has disclosed a few details of how investigations into the murder of lawyer Willie Kimani and two others will be conducted.

Speaking at the Milimani Law Courts, Muhoro stated that authorities had already secured the main witnesses in the case and placed them under protection to ensure there was no interference.

“I will ensure that there is no interference from any quarter and I will ensure investigations are complete in 14 days,” vowed Muhoro.

The DCI boss confirmed to judge Luka Muhoro that America's Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) would also take part in the probe.

Mr Muhoro further stated that he had appointed two senior officers to lead the inquiry including; John Kariuki from the Serious Crimes Unit and Said Mohammed, head of Flying Squad.

The chief detective also disclosed that investigations would also involve four lawyers provided by the Director of Public Prosecutions.

He assured that his team was taking the matter seriously and would conduct detailed investigations given the magnitude of the case.

“Initially we were dealing with a matter of abduction but upon the recovery of the bodies, I asked the homicide team to work with investigators already on the case,” he asserted.

Meanwhile, Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery and Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet have been summoned by the National Assembly Security and Administration committee to explain the torture and murder of Lawyer Kimani, his client and a taxi driver.
