Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto Warns William Ruto to be Careful of Peter Kenneth

Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has warned Deputy President William Ruto that the entry of Peter Kenneth in Jubilee will be the end of his dream to become the president.

The Bomet Governor stated that the DP had made a big mistake in folding his United Republican Party (URP) since the ‘real owners’ of Jubilee would not allow him to win the presidency in 2022.

According to the governor, powerful individuals in Jubilee were grooming Kenneth to take over from President Uhuru Kenyatta, adding that the first plan of their own would be to give him a national outlook by ensuring he wins the 2017 gubernatorial race in Nairobi County.

"Let us tell each other the truth. The greatest mistake that the Deputy President made was to allow the dissolution of United Republican Party (URP), he will learn the hard way that a politician cannot enjoy sleep when he or she doesn't have a safety net in form of a political party which he can use to bargain with," the governor told his supporters during a rally at Sigowet grounds in Soin/Sigowet constituency.

His statement was supported by another rival to the deputy president - Emurua-Dikir MP Johanna Ngeno.

"The aim of jubilee's power brokers is for Peter Kenneth to be the 2022 presidential candidate and the first step is to ensure that he makes a comeback to the national limelight by taking over the Nairobi gubernatorial seat," Ngeno claimed.

Kenneth has recently resigned from the Kenya National Congress and is expected to join the Jubilee Party ahead of launching his campaign for the Nairobi top seat.
