Sonko Rewards His 'Son' Gift Osinya After 2016 KCPE Results

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko on Thursday touched the hearts of many after the release of his son's Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exam results.

Sonko was elated over the performance of Gift Osinya, a teenage boy he rescued in 2014 after his mother was shot dead during a terror attack at a church in Likoni, as he scored 399 marks.

Proud of his adopted son's performance, a philanthropic Sonko went ahead to award the 13-year-old a whopping Sh399,000 for his impressive results.

As if that was not enough, Sonko disclosed that he would set aside an educational account containing Sh2 Million exclusively for Gift.

Gift, who wants to be an engineer, scored as follows: English 77 marks, Kiswahili 85, Mathematics 87, Social Studies 77  and Science 73.

The aspiring Nairobi Governor recounted how Gift came to his life noting that after their mother's death, he had enrolled the siblings to top schools and even found employment for their jobless father, Benson Osinya.

Sonko moved Kenyans with his outstanding selflessness with many trooping to congratulate him for the work he was doing.

Gift is the brother to baby Satrin Osinya - the toddler who had a bullet lodged in his head during the terror ambush at Joy Church Likoni.
