Apologise in 7 Days or We Will Curse You – Kikuyu Elders Tell Citizen TV's SK Macharia

Citizen TV owner SK Macharia has been given seven days to apologise or be cursed by Kikuyu Elders from Thika sub-county over the remarks he made about ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The media mogul, while making his submission over the controversial Election (Amendment) Bill 2016 in Parliament, claimed that Odinga won the 2007 Elections.

The over 500 elders, who addressed the press in Thika, stated that Macharia's revelations were ill-timed and that he should apologise before they proceeded to his Gatanga home and perform the ritual.

“What he has done is very irresponsible of a Kikuyu elder of his calibre. Why is he bringing up such an issue at a time when the country is headed to a General Election?

''His remarks would ignite ethnic clashes because communities supporting the opposition might believe that then elections were rigged,” Central Region Council of Elders chairperson Njoroge Karatu affirmed.

Mr Karatu further claimed that the media mogul was being used by Odinga to cause unnecessary tension in the country after the Opposition discovered they would lose to Current President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August 8 Election.

Macharia claimed that media owners conducted a parallel tallying of votes from all polling stations where statistics showed Odinga beat former President Mwai Kibaki.

“The one who was declared the winner in 2007 was not the winner. We tracked all the results through satellite phones and as per my records, Raila won the elections,” Macharia said in Parliament
