KUCCPS Announces Degree Revision Dates for 2016 KCSE Candidates

2016 KCSE Candidates who attained grade C+ and above have been directed to revise their degree choices from January 30 to February 17.

The announcement was made by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).

“All 2016 KCSE candidates who scored a minimum overall grade of C+ and above will be placed to pursue degree courses of their choice in public and private universities and government-sponsored students,” KUCCPS CEO John Muraguri announced.

Muraguri added that the first revision would also allow candidates who scored grade C- and above to apply for placement for diploma courses.

“Candidates who wish to pursue diploma courses will have an opportunity to apply during the first revision.” KUCCPS boss announced.

At the same time, the Commission for University Education (CUE) has declined to lower the university entry grade that would have allowed candidates with a grade C- and above to qualify.

In the KCSE 2016 results, only 88,929 students managed a score of C+ and above.

This number has lowered the number of students who will make it to university.

CUE has announced that both public and private universities in Kenya have the capacity to absorb more than 160,000 students a year.
