Chris Kirubi Appointed to Advisory Board of Harvard University's African Centre

Kenyan businessman and billionaire Chris Kirubi has been honoured with an appointment to the Africa Advisory Board at Harvard University’s Centre for African Studies.

Kirubi was appointed after a recommendation by Prof Emmanuel Akyeampong, who teaches History at the prestigious institution.

The American university uses the Centre for African Studies (CAS) for all research relating to Africa.

In doing so, the institution relies on the input of the most influential and knowledgeable people in areas of business, politics, and in the academia.

The wealthy industrialist will serve for a three-year term and is expected to use his valuable networks to enhance funding of CAS, research, and placement of the best students.

Kirubi is considered one of the most influential business leaders in Africa and has previously been featured on Forbes’ List of the top 40 richest individuals in Africa.

Fondly referred to as DJ CK in social circles, Kirubi has varied interests in manufacturing, real estate, media, agriculture among others.

He is a graduate of Harvard Business School and has previously served in the University’s Global Advisory Council.
