At least eight people are reported to have been killed on Thursday morning in a grisly road accident along Mombasa- Nairobi highway.
The accident occurred after a Nairobi-bound matatu collided head-on with a lorry between Malili and Salama towns.
According to police reports, 12 other passengers were seriously injured in the accident.
While confirming the accident, Base Commander Joseph Nyasili urged drivers to be careful to avoid such an accident again.
"Drivers should be vigilant while driving because you are ferrying people and you should be in a rush to get to your destination," he said
The accident comes two days after another accident happened on the same highway at Kibwezi area that killed 26 people.
Kibwezi Police boss Leonard Kimaiyo confirmed the incident stating that it was a head-on collision between a bus and a truck.
