National Super Alliance (NASA) principals led by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Friday made a rare comment seemingly praising President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking at Kilimo Talii hotel in Tharaka Nithi County, the NASA leaders said they had no problem with Kenyatta but their issue was Deputy President (DP) William Ruto.
Musyoka stated that he was opposed to Ruto noting that he was the reason the Jubilee government "should be sent packing" since he should not be allowed to rule the country
“Kenyatta is seeking a second term after which the Constitution won’t allow him to vie. Now we want you to think of Ruto being the president after Kenyatta. So to block
Ruto, we must ensure they fall with Kenyatta,”
Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula accused Ruto of orchestrating the International Criminal Criminal Court (ICC) propaganda to win support.
He added that all the NASA principals voted against the ICC issue in Parliament but Ruto insisted the cases should be taken to the Hague-based court.
“We have no intentions of reviving the cases and Kenyans are aware this is mere propaganda,” he said.
On his part, NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga accused the Jubilee administration of riding in the glory of the projects that the coalition government initiated when he was the Prime Minister.
Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi promised that a NASA government would ensure county allocation funds were increased from the constitutional 15 percent to 45 percent to fully support devolution.
