Embakasi East Parliament aspirant Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino has dismissed claims that he poisoned his opponent Joshua Obiende of the Amani National Congress (ANC) which is an affiliate party of the NASA coalition.
The former University of Nairobi Students leader noted that he did not poison Mr Obiende and instead linked his Jubilee Party rival, Francis Mureithi to the poisoning.
"You know who can do this nonsense, this mwanafunzi is a terrible character, but we will teach him a political lesson," Babu stated.
He further noted that the truth would soon be revealed as Mr Obiende had recovered from the poisoning.
"It is good Obiende is out of danger and he can now explain what actually happened," Babu mentioned.
He also accused his opponent of planning to buy voters in the constituency, stating that Mureithi was dishing out money to ODM supporters so that they could jump ship.
Mr Mureithi, however, dismissed the claims stating that Babu was a violent man who wanted to spread his dictatorship from SONU to national politics.
Mr Obiende was admitted at Coptic Hospital last week after collapsing during one of the National Super Alliance(NASA) rallies in Nairobi.
