Post-mortem results have revealed that the late Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery died from a heart attack.
An autopsy conducted on Monday by Pathologists Dr Johansen Oduor, Dr Bessie Byakika and Dr Andrew Gachie indicated that Nkaissery suffered from a condition known in medical terms as myocardial infarction.
Reports indicate that the condition occurs when heart muscles "die" as a result of a compromised blood vessel.
Dr Oduor also revealed that the deceased's heart was enlarged.
Speaking to the press the doctors together with Nkaissery's family ruled out foul play in his death.
The doctors, however, noted that further tests would be undertaken.
Nkaissery died on Saturday morning after being rushed to the Karen Hospital.
His body is lying at the Lee Funeral Home.
