Fake KDF Officer Finally Arrested After 10 years

A man who has been posing as a Kenya Defence Force (KDF) officer for 10 years was caught by Kenya Police in Uasin Gishu county on Friday.

The suspect identified as Hassan Nainuk was arrested in his house at Kambi Mwangi area where several stolen household goods were recovered.

Eldoret West police boss Samuel Mutunga confirmed the arrest noting that the man had been operating in the area as a leader of a criminal gang.

"People know him as a KDF officer, he always puts on a tracksuit to disguise himself as a sportsman yet in the real sense he is a criminal," Mutunga stated.

The police boss noted that the suspect was apprehended following a tip-off by members of the public who noticed his weird behaviour.

The recovered items include TV sets, gas cylinders, doors, chairs, seats and other electronics.

Mr Mutunga further stated that they have taken his fingerprints which will be used as part of investigations in other criminal cases reported in the region.

Last week, a night guard was killed and another injured by gangsters who raided Kidiwa SDA church in the area.
