Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot Exposes Cartels Behind Suspension of KNH CEO

A section of Kericho leaders led by Jubilee Senator, Aaron Cheruiyot, on Saturday condemned the suspension of Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Lilian Koros, indicating that the decision was misguided.

Senator Cheruiyot revealed that her suspension was a choreographed scheme by high placed individuals who wanted her to be removed from KNH.

The Senator explained that Ms Koros had refused to dance to the tune of cartels seeking to get tenders at the facility and who have now embarked on schemes to taint her image.

"We have taken with great exception to the decision of Health Cabinet Secretary (CS) , Sicily Kariuki, to suspend the KNH CEO.

"What we know is that cartels have for a long time been planning a scheme to kick her out because she had proven to be very tough in matters corruption," the CS stated.

Cheruiyot, who was accompanied by an MP and several MCAs, linked the recent scandals at the KNH to the cartels, whom he claimed were interested in acquiring tenders at the institution.

He blamed the CS for suspending Koros without putting much consideration into the matter which he claimed could have been solved by other means.

"The CS walks into KNH barely two weeks after assuming office, without much knowledge of what happens in the ministry and suspends the CEO.

"This is a sign of weak, inept, clueless and incompetent leadership," Cheruiyot asserted.

The Senator noted that the CS ought to have convened a meeting with the board and come up with solutions which would stop a repeat of the incidents which had caused public outrage.
