Mavoko MP Patrick Makau Ejected from Parliament After Clashing with John Mbadi [VIDEO]

A Member of Parliament allied to the Wiper Democratic Movement was ejected from the National Assembly chamber after clashing with Minority Leader John Mbadi.

Mavoko lawmaker Patrick Makau was kicked out of the House on Tuesday after he refused to leave the seat reserved for the House Minority leader.

Speaking to journalists outside Parliament, Makau stated that he did not regret his actions since Mbadi and fellow ODM MPs had joined the Jubilee Party.

"Wiper being the third largest party I was appointed by fellow members to be the leader of the minority in this House," Makau stated.

" We lead the opposition now. Mbadi is in government so I am the official defacto leader of the opposition," he added.

The Mavoko legislator maintained that unless the Speaker of the House, Justin Muturi, gives him time to address the issue, they will continue blocking Mbadi from his seat.

Makueni lawmaker Daniel Maanzo had stated that he expected ODM MPs to support Jubilee since the Party leader Raila Odinga met with President Uhuru Kenyatta and agreed on a unity pact without the other NASA principals.

He argued that the meeting between President Kenyatta and Raila at Harambee House indicated that ODM was no longer in the Opposition.

"On Tuesday when we get to parliament, minority leaders Mbadi and Junet must tell us if they will seat on the Jubilee or the minority side. This is as we wait for the answer that Raila will give us on Monday," Maanzo stated.

He spoke on Saturday at a Makueni hotel during a closed-door meeting that was attended by Makueni Wiper leaders, MCAs, MPs and deputy governors.
