Cop Arrested in Suspicion of Kidnapping, Robbery and Drug Peddling

A police officer has been nabbed on accusations of kidnapping, robbing and selling drugs to university students.

The police officer, who is attached to the Nakuru Dog Unit was arrested on Tuesday at Nakuru and already has two cases of kidnapping to his name.

According to a police statement by two Kabarak University students, the officer with the help of an accomplice kidnapped them and bundled them in his car’s trunk.

The officer later robbed them all their money and dumped them in the outskirts of Nakuru town.

The incident which happened on May 13 was reported on May 15.

The car used by the unnamed officer who is attached to the Nakuru Dog Unit was on Tuesday spotted in the vicinity of Kabarak University.

This prompted the institution’s chief security to call the police who made the arrest.

During the arrest, police confiscated 29 rolls of bhang stashed in a margarine can.

However, his accomplice managed to flee and a manhunt for him has since been launched.

The students positively identified the officer who is in custody at Menengai Police Station.
