Uhuru Gifts Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Photos With Past Presidents

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday left Canada after attending the G7 Summit held in the North America Nation over the past week.

While meeting with Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, President Kenyatta gave the PM framed photographs of himself as a boy during past visits to Kenya.

The young Canadian PM was pictured alongside his father, former PM Pierre Trudeau, and Kenya's former presidents Daniel Arap Moi and Mwai Kibaki.

Posting photos of the encounter, the PM remarked: "A trip down memory lane from President Uhuru Kenyatta today.

"Canada and Kenya will always keep working to build our partnerships 'from strength to strength'," PM Trudeau posted on his official Twitter handle.

As a result of the bilateral talks held between the two leaders, the Canada PM pledged to back Kenya’s plans to tap its Ocean resources and improve two-way investment.

President Kenyatta also hailed Prime Minister Trudeau’s plan for Canada to offer $2.9 Billion with the help of its G7 partners to fund education for the world’s poorest girls and women.

G7 leaders affirmed that Africa’s security, stability and sustainable development were high priorities for them and reiterated their support for African-led initiatives, including at regional level.

"We reiterate our commitment to work in partnership with the African continent, supporting the African Union Agenda 2063 in order to realize Africa’s potential," communiqué from the G7 read in part.

President Kenyatta departed from Quebec City on Monday morning and is expected to arrive on Tuesday.
