William Ruto Voids Raila, Uhuru Relationship During Coast Tour

Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday indicated that he was keen not to be edged out by the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.

Speaking at Majaoni, Kisuani constituency during a ceremony to handover 3,000 title deeds to squatters, the DP indicated that he is well prepared to deal with outsiders who want to bring chaos in Jubilee.

"We know what the handshake is. And we are also very clear on what it is not. Marafiki zetu wasituletee utapeli ndani ya Jubilee. Tuko macho bwana. Tunawajua. (Our friends should not infect Jubilee with conmanship, we know them. We are watching keenly.) We don’t want you to export conmanship into the Jubilee Government," held DP Ruto.

Accompanied by several elected leaders, the DP impressed with his knowledge and grasp of the local Coastal dialects.

He started his address with at least ten distinct salutations familiar with coastal communities, amid cheers from the crowd as he insisted that he was doing his job but not campaigning for 2022 as alleged by his critics.

"I am here not for a tour or politics, I am here for work. There is no way we can change the coast or the country without a development plan. You did your job when you elected us and now it is our turn to fulfill what we promised regardless of our political or religious inclination," stated the DP.

He listed numerous planned projects including roads, dams, electricity and water supply in all the counties in the region and on Monday he will issue 15,000 title deeds in Taita Taveta.

Area leaders led by Kisauni MP Ali Mbogo could not stay clear 2022 politics, given a recent declaration by ODM MPs that their party leader Raila will be on the ballot in the next presidential elections.

Mbogo and Aisha Jumwa told off ODM party leadership for bothering them for choosing to work with the Deputy President, maintaining that they remain unshaken.

Also in attendance, Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya declared that the area was keen on voting for Ruto to become president in 2022.

The governor urged the area residents to support the DP as he remains the only way the region will be in government in 2022.
