Uhuru Confirms Kellen Kanze Dena as State House Spokesperson & PSCU Head

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday confirmed former Citizen TV news anchor Kellen Kanze Dena to the position of State House Spokesperson and Head of the Presidential Strategic Communications Unit (PSCU).

Kanze has been working in an acting capacity for the past three months.

Her predecessor Mr Manoah Esipisu was appointed Kenya's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom in July.

"We wish Ms. Kanze Dena success in her new role and ask all stakeholders including PSCU staff, the media and colleagues in Government to accord her the support she needs to excel," Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita noted in a statement.

She is the first female State House Spokesperson and Head of PSCU in Kenya's history.

Dena previously charmed audiences across the country delivering Swahili news bulletins on various stations.

PSCU is responsible for dissemination of information from the President's office to the public across a range of platforms.

Dena promised to build on the work done by Esipisu and discharge her mandate effectively.

"I will work with my team and all stakeholders across Government to ensure that we deliver on our mandate as the President's media team.

"I am well aware of the demands of the job and confirm my preparedness to step into the shoes of my predecessor.

"I trust that with God and with the support of my superiors and the cooperation of my team, we will be able to succeed," she stated shortly after her confirmation was announced.
