Details of Jimmy Wanjigi's Meeting With Sonko

Businessman Jimmy Wanjigi on Wednesday met with Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko at his offices in City Hall.

According to Sonko, Wanjigi paid him a courtesy call at City Hall where he expressed his satisfaction with the development progress made in Nairobi City County.

Besides, Wanjigi praised Sonko's administration for creating a conducive environment for private investors in the Capital.

The meeting came on the sidelines of the Sustainable Blue Economy Conference at KICC whose focus has been creating economic growth, ensuring healthy waters and building safe communities.

Sonko also separately met with business magnate Chris Kirubi where the two held insightful discussions.

"I hope that policies addressed during the Blue Economy Conference will not be shelved but instead will be put to action for the benefit of all sectors," Kirubi stated.

The business mogul further expressed optimism that blue economy offers a great avenue to offer opportunities to the youth and women.

Wanjigi has been in the limelight since the 2017 General Election owing to his connection with the Opposition.

This saw him at loggerheads with the government and prompted a 72-hour police siege at his palatial residence in Muthaiga.

He was later waylaid by the police at Museum Hill in an attempt to serve him a court order in a case on illegal ammunition found at his residence.

On Wednesday, he demanded a Kshs100 million compensation from Nation Media Group following the publication of a controversial obituary bearing his image and details.
