Kenya National Examinations Council chairman George Magoha, on Friday, announced that we would leave the Council in March 2019.
Speaking at the KNEC headquarters where the KCSE 2018 results were being released, Magoha highlighted some milestones the council had undertaken in matters examinations in the country.
"I would prefer that as I leave in March we have secured a place in South C and secured a smart warehouse with a central control centre that is linked to the containers," he stated.
He noted an improvement in the conducting of examinations in the country affirming that the results released were the true reflection of the candidates' performance.
"When you see the results you will see that we at par again and that having practiced medicine, I know how the human brain works. I can tell you and you can take it to the bank that the children have got what they deserve," he maintained.
He appreciated the teachers' efforts describing them as professional in their work that had resulted in better results every year.
"As at now, KNEC management is responsible at the tactical level but for the staff that is responsible for the operational level, I can admit for the first time that I think ‘we are there'," he added.
He further thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta's intervention by calling on other members of the cabinet to help the Ministry out in conducting the examination.
Earlier on Friday, Mgoha had accompanied Education CS Amina Mohamed to State House where they briefed President Uhuru Kenyatta on the 2018 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education results.
