Manoah Esipisu Meets Queen Elizabeth II

Kenya's High Commissioner to Britain Manoah Esipisu on Tuesday had a special meeting with Queen Elizabeth II.

Through his social media account, the envoy indicated that he had presented his letters of credence to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace.

"I thanked the Queen for her enduring friendship with Kenya," he added.

On the other hand, Britain through The Royal Family's account tweeted, "The Queen received His Excellency Mr. Manoah Esipisu, High Commissioner for the Republic of Kenya in London.

"An Audience is a one-to-one meeting with The Queen which occur regularly throughout Her Majesty's working week," the statement concluded.

President Uhuru Kenyatta nominated the former State House spokesman Manoah Esipisu as Kenya's envoy to the UK in July, 2018.

State House spokesperson, Kanze Dena announced Esipisu's nomination as an ambassador in July, 2018 indicating that henceforth, she was going to be the head of the Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU).

"Now that my boss Manoah Esipisu has been redeployed, I wish to announce I am the acting State House spokesperson," Dena stated then.

Queen Elizabeth II has a special relationship with Kenya given that when she ascended the throne in 1952, she was staying at the Treetops Hotel in Nyeri, Kenya.

Aged just 25, Princess Elizabeth had visited Kenya at the start of a Commonwealth tour on behalf of her father, King George VI.

She was called to Sagana State Lodge where she was informed of her father's death and consequently her succession to the throne.
