Kanze Dena Takes Over as State House Spokesperson

Kanze Dena has taken over as the acting State House Spokesperson after new ambassador appointments were announced on Friday.

In major government reshuffle made by President Uhuru Kenyatta, incumbent spokesman Manoah Esipisu has been appointed as an ambassador.

Esipisu was also the secretary of communication and the head of the Presidential Strategic Communications Unit (PSCU), a role she will also take over.

Others who were appointed as ambassadors are former SRC boss Sarah Serem and former Ainamoi MP Benjamin Lang'at.

Lt. General Samuel Thuita who is also in the list of appointees was replaced as the Airforce Commander Francis Ogolla.

President Kenyatta has also appointed George Ochillo Ayacko, former Rongo legislator who unsuccessfully vied for Migori Gubernatorial seat in 2017.

Also in the list is Johnson Mogo Ondieki who was the Kenyan UN army commander in South Sudan and was sacked in 2016 for allegedly failing to protect civilians.

The list also includes Francis Muhoro, Chris Karumba Mburu and Amb Peter Nicholas Oginga Ogego.

This list will be submitted to parliament for approval.

When announcing the appointments, Kanze stated: “As you know, the nomination of these ambassadors is subject to review by parliament.

“I make this announcement as the head of PSCU and acting Statehouse Spokesperson."

She also announced that State House had made a reshuffle in the cabinet by appointing switching two Cabinet Secretaries and Permanent Secretaries as well as appointing others.
