Deputy President William Ruto has taken his commitment to God a notch higher, by building a church inside his official residence in Karen, Nairobi.
The church was launched on Wednesday, in a ceremony that was attended by Reverend Teresa Wairimu, Bishop Mark Kariuki, KFCB CEO, Ezekiel Mutua, Citizen TV's Victoria Rubadiri and Joe Ageyo among others.
After the altar was dedicated by Reverend Wairimu, the guest shared a cake to celebrate.
"Today (Wednesday), my husband, the Deputy President and I were blessed to have been joined by Fathers of Faith and key leaders in various mountains of influence during the opening ceremony of our National Prayer Altar at the official residence of the Deputy President.
"David built there an altar to the Lord and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. Thus the Lord was moved by prayer for the land, and the plague was held back from Israel (2 Samuel 24:25)," read Ms Ruto's post on Facebook.
Construction began as early as August 22, 2018, when DP Ruto laid the foundation stone for the church.
Ruto's family was also prayed for by the host of religious leaders that were in attendance.
The DP has established himself as a man after God's own heart, with the trips he has been making to churches across the country and donating huge sums of money.
His wife is also known as a convener of religious gatherings meant to pray for the country.
"The nation honours you for being a divine instrument of prayer and sanctity. History will be kind to you mum for honouring God in the palace!" commented Ezekiel Mutua.
