Ruto Fires Shots at Mudavadi in His Own Backyard

Deputy President William Ruto fired shots at National Super Alliance (Nasa) leader Musalia Mudavadi during his visit in Vihiga County on Saturday, September 7.

"I toured here before in 2007 and campaigned for Musalia Mudavadi to be Vice President. We were also campaigning for Agwambo (Raila Odinga) to be the President. However, our efforts were futile.

"I would like to tell you that Musalia should join my team and the team of Moses Akaranga (former Vihiga Governor) and Benjamin Washiali (Mumias East MP) so that we form the government," Ruto stated.

Ruto was attending a women’s function at Nabwani in Sabatia Constituency, two weeks after he was the chief guest at a similar event at Luanda in the same county.

He further asked the crowd to decide for Mudavadi as he made a thinly-veiled attack on the Nasa chief for 'wasting time' by being in the opposition.

"There are two kinds of people. Those who know how to form the government and those who know how to form the opposition.

"You the voters have to decide whether you want those who will form the government or the opposition," Ruto opined.

He further spoke on BBI and Punguza Mizigo Bill, asking Kenyans to be patient and wait for further directives.

"The Kenyans will decide on which bill is better. We don't want reckless politics where the citizens are used," Ruto lashed out.

Among those who attended the event were Sirisia MP, John Walukhe, Moses Akaranga (former Vihiga Governor) and Moses Washiali (Mumias West MP).
