Mudavadi's Wife Lands Presidential Award

A number of Kenyans were listed as recipients of various presidential awards in a gazette notice issued on Friday, December 20, 2019.

ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi's wife Tessie Mudavadi was among the those who were awarded the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS). 

Tessie, who is a cancer survivor, has been actively involved in the Mudavadi Memorial Foundation Trust, working to promoting care of patients.

She is the trust fund's managing trustee and founder. During an event organised in support of cancer patients in October 2019, she urged the government to offer more assistance to palliative care management.

Others who were awarded the same award were teacher Peter Mokaya Tabichi, former Citizen TV anchor Hussein Mohamed.

Politicians who were also listed among the recipients of the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS) included Kanini Kega (Kieni MP), Millie Odhiambo (Suba North), Woman Representatives: Gladys Wanga (Homabay) and Ali Fatuma Gedi (Wajir),

Recipients of the Elder of the Order of the Burning Spear included, (EBS) Rose Museo (Makueni Woman Rep) and Maison Leshoomo (Samburu Woman Rep).
