Atwoli Breaks Bank for Wife After Graduation

COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli on Wednesday, January 1, held a graduation party for his wife, KTN News anchor Mary Kilobi, at their Iladamat home in Kajiado County.

The news anchor graduated from the University of Nairobi with a masters in international studies on December 20, 2019.

"I graduated in absentia from the university because I had visited the UK at the time, but held the party in January," Ms Kilobi told our newsdesk.

In photos posted by the screen siren on her social media, she and her husband are seen enjoying themselves at a purple and white themed party, graced by a number of guests as a band plays music.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Ms Kilobi disclosed that pursuing her career and education at the same time was difficult.

"I started my masters studies in 2013 and it was a journey and a half. When I was attending my classes, I would only read the news at 4pm and go to class. I fully resumed my job after I was done with the classes," she stated.

Ms Kilobi got her first degree in arts from Makerere University in 2009 and hopes to attain a PhD by the year 2029.

On the same day she graduated, Water and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary Simon Chelugui graduated with a masters in finance and investment.

"Glory and honour to the Almighty God on this day as I graduate with a Masters of Science in Finance and Investment from the University of Nairobi.

"I really thank God for kindness, good health and power that has enabled me to study and achieve this milestone," the CS wrote.
