Man Jumps to Death in Kilimani After Losing Ksh15M in Bet

A man committed suicide by jumping off a top floor in Nairobi's Kilimani area.

The 40-year-old man identified as Richard Wangai allegedly jumped from the fifth floor of Adlife Plaza near Yaya Centre after losing Ksh15 million at a casino.

Police sources who spoke to Citizen Digital stated that Wangai arrived at the building at 4 pm and waited until 5 pm when he committed the act.

Further, the police revealed that some tablets were found in Wangai's pocket.

The area has since been sealed off by officers who are probing the matter.

The deceased's body was taken to City mortuary.

The incident comes a month after a lawyer based in Mombasa, Sammy Anyanzwa, committed suicide by jumping off the eighth floor of a government building.

Anyanzwa is said to have made transactions on the first floor which hosts the Ministry of Lands offices and then used the lift to the eighth floor, where he committed suicide.

“It is unclear why he threw himself off the building but we have launched investigations,” Mombasa Police Commander Eliud Monari stated.

The 69-year-old was pronounced dead on reaching Pandya Hospital, where he was taken by good samaritans.
