A young boy took creativity a notch higher by impersonating Health CS Mutahi Kagwe in a viral video that surfaced online on Thursday, April 23.

The boy set up a presser to spoof the daily briefings by the Ministry of Health to provide Kenyans with updates on Covid-19 in the country.

The set up was complete with what looked like an impersonation of Health Chief Administrative Secretary Mercy Mwangangi and acting Health Director-General Patrick in the background.

The boy begins the presser just like Kagwe does it, "Good Afternoon fellow Kenyans, today in the global arena, 154,828 have died of Coronavirus, fortunately, 581,182 have recovered as we continue to fight against this disease.

"I want to emphasise the issues I have said including hygiene, washing your hands and all the other practices we have set."

The impersonation by the boy sounds like a patched up briefing Kagwe delivered on Saturday, April 18,  when he appeared to hit out at Governor Mike Sonko on claiming alcohol can help fight Covid-19.

"While on this I must say that we have noted, with serious concern, about the non-fiction about food and nutrition going round on social media on the healing of certain food and drinks.

"I want to tell Kenyans that this is not the right time to confuse our people or to engage in publicity theatrics."

The boy, however, goes off script from the usual Kagwe pressers by endorsing Deputy President William Ruto ahead of the 2022 presidential elections.

"I also want to urge our Deputy President, Honourable Dr William Samoei Ruto to stay at home, quarantine yourself until this pandemic is over, because us Kenyans, we need you as our president come 2022."

He closes the "presser" by acting out Kagwe's Christmas gaffe, "With those few remarks, this season being Christmas I want to wish you all...ohh sorry! This being Easter weekend, ha! It's actually Easter, I want to wish you all the best and please stay at home."

Comedian Eric Omondi also did an impersonation of Kagwe that actually caught the attention of the CS in one of his pressers.
