Managing Editor of Nation Media Group's Broadcasting Division Emmanuel Juma has left the station.
The Kimathi Street-based media house released an internal memo on Friday, December 11, announcing that Friday, January 1, 2021 was Juma's last day at NTV.
The notice also stated that NTV's morning show host, and ex-BBC editor Joseph Warungu had been appointed to fill the position on an interim basis.
"This is to inform you that Emmanuel Juma, our Managing Editor for NBD (Nation Broadcasting Division) will no longer be with us from January 1, 2021.
"The Consulting Editor, Mr. Warungu will handle the duties of the Managing Editor's office in an interim capacity. Kindly do accord him all the necessary support," read the notice.
When Kenyans.co.ke reached out to Juma about his future plans, he declined to comment on the latest development.
Juma, who also hosts the popular Bulls Eye programme, has been with NTV for 15 years since he began the show in 2005.
The show suffered a hiatus in 2018 when the journalist was retrenched at the beginning of that year before he was recalled in August 2018.
Juma moved to NTV from KTN where he ran a similar programme called The Parting Shot.
Bull's Eye, a weekly comic segment takes trending sound bytes from various political personalities and uses satire and well-timed clips to bring out different angles of the top stories.
Taking a comical view on the headlines and using perfectly timed clips and sound effects that accentuate viral moments, the show provides the much needed comical relief that characterises the Kenyan political scene.
It airs during the Friday prime time news with a repeat showing during Saturday's 1 o'clock news.
