The applicant noted that he was looking for an opportunity as a General Manager (Administration, Sales and Marketing, Finance).

Kenyans.co.ke has established that the rate for such an advert on a publication with nationwide circulations is approximately Ksh10,000.

Unemployment remains a hot button issue in Kenya's economy. More than one million Kenyans have lost their jobs from March 2020 due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

With the limited job opportunities in the country, applicants have come up with creative ways to grab the attention of potential employers.

One of the creative methods one can use is reverse psychology; For example, instead of applying for many jobs, you can flip the script and create a flyer that states, ‘employers required with clean nails and a million shilling plan".

It could create buzz online and attract the attention that allows you to form networks.

Other ways one can sell themselves uniquely include; creating viral content, using social media, shooting your shot among others.

The newspaper advertisement rekindled memories of the late Fai Amario, a Naivasha tycoon who placed newspaper adverts on all major dailies to express his message of seeking a wife to marry.
