A Governor’s Embarrassment
Ousted former Wajir Governor Wajir Mohammed Abdi Mohamud was forced out of Interior CS Fred Matiang'i's meeting after organizers learnt that Wajir County was being represented by two leaders.
Mohamud was succeeded by Ahmed Ali Mukhtar as the area governor after the former was impeached for gross violation of the Constitution.

Clock Ticking for Ruto
The DP is racing against time as President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga move to finalise the Jubilee-ODM coalition pact. Joshua Kutuny, Jubilee's Deputy Secretary-General alleged that they have a clear strategy that will shock many people when the right time comes, and the President has an elaborate plan that will completely destabilise any opposition that will be facing his team.
Ruto has been hesitant about moving out of Jubile but has openly supported the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). The DP publicly stated that he would move to UDA at the right time.
"It would be the biggest act of betrayal if I was to walk away from eight million Kenyans who voted for us," Ruto stated on his Jubilee ouster.
New Rules for The Men in Blue
Deputy Inspector General of Police Aineah Olweywe On Wednesday, June 30, barred police living in lines (barracks) from having visitors unless authorised by their bosses. Olweywe, in a notice to the servicemen, stated that all officers residing in police lines(barracks) would have to seek permission from their seniors.
He stated that Any officer wishing to bring relatives or friends into the lines shall obtain written permission from orderly N.C.O (In-Charge Lines and Discipline) and shall be registered.
Two months earlier, in April 2021, Matiang'i prohibited police officers from having affairs and marrying each other while still serving under NPS. He stated that Moving forward, it will be illegal for a police officer to date or get married to a fellow law enforcement officer. If two police officers fall in love, then one has to leave the Service.
Details of Trader Kidnapped in Broad Daylight
Police reports have revealed that Nyeri businessman Gerald Guandaru, who was abducted on Tuesday, June 29, had a past criminal case. Further, he had been kidnapped before in 2017 under similar circumstances.
It was alleged that he was found by Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) officers a day later in possession of a rifle and two tusks. Guandaru alongside another man - presumed to be his accomplice - was arrested and charged for having the ivory.
The case dragged on for three years and Guandaru was later acquitted of both charges in 2020. The new development comes as the businessman went missing after being abducted by a three-man gang outside his barbershop in Nyeri.
Cheering Squad Paid Ksh17 Million to Cheer
According to a report by the Auditor General, the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) paid its staff Ksh17 million to cheer the Bandari Football Club matches in the year ending June 2019.
Additionally, the Auditor General stated that the authority paid salaries and allowances to non-employees who joined the KPA cheering team both locally and abroad.
However, the management did not provide details on how the term management units employees and non-employees players were selected to participate in various tournaments and subsistence allowance paid.
