Caroline Kangogo's father, Corporal Barnaba Kibor, has maintained that his daughter committed suicide contrary to popular opinion.

Speaking to the press while at his home in Nyawa village Elgeyo Marakwet on Sunday, July 18, the father challenged anyone of contrary opinion to present facts.

Rumours had been awash that there was foul play in her death with some arguing that she might have been murdered before being dumped at her parents' home.

Kibor, however, noted that the manner in which her body was found did not support a theory that she was killed by somebody else.

"I do not want people's judgement claiming that she might have been killed. If there is anyone one who knows that she was killed, then where did it happen?

"They can present themselves and tell us because what I saw was that she killed herself according to how we found her body," explained the father, a former police officer.

Tracking her last moments, Kibor further noted that she was dropped home by a boda boda rider on the night of Thursday, July 15, at around 10 pm.

She then proceeded to lock herself in the backyard bathroom before taking her own life.

"The youth did not know that (his passenger) was my daughter. He just brought her as a regular passenger and dropped her along the road outside the house, about 50 metres from the home.

"If the bullet had been shot from the front to the back, the blood would have spattered on the back wall but it was shot from the side. She did not use her left hand, she is right-handed for everything," he added.

He noted that the bathroom door had been locked from the inside disputing the possibility of that happening in a murder situation.

Kibor further noted that he could not ascertain whether the text messages that were making rounds on social media platforms had been authored by Kangogo since a sim card was not found in the phone before it was taken by the police.

"There is no one who has confirmed that it is my daughter who killed the victims. Had we found her alive, she could have clarified if and why she killed them," he concluded.

The fugitive is believed to have shot herself dead after her body was recovered on Friday morning, July 16.
