The family of the late police officer Caroline Kangogo met the kin of her alleged victim, John Ogweno, on Thursday, July 22 at the Kasarani Police Headquarters in Nakuru County.

Ogweno's family were attending a prayer service organised for him at the police station while Kangogo's kin had gone to the station to pick up her household items.

The two families were seen conversing during the event but they did not disclose what the discussions were about.

Ogweno's father Edward Ouru termed Ogweno's death as unfortunate and untimely.

"It is unfortunate we had to lose him this way. He had a promising future that has been cut short," he stated.

A postmortem conducted on Ogweno revealed that he had died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Emotions run high when family and friends converged at PNN Funeral Home in Nakuru to view the body.

The deceased is survived by two wives, Juliet Aliero and Sweetney Audrey Chelangat and children.

His burial will be conducted in his village in Sengre village, Rachuonyo East, Homa Bay County on Friday, July 22.

Ogweno was found dead inside a car at Kasarani police station, Nakuru County. Following her death, Kangogo was named as the main suspect.

A day later, another man allegedly lured by Kangogo was found murdered at Dedamax Hotel in Kimbo, Juja.

Kangogo's family has since apologised and asked for forgiveness from the two families.

"We are still saying sorry to the families that lost their kin. For now, we are just saying sorry as a family because we also understand they also lost their relatives," explained Robert Kipkorir, the family spokesman.
