4 Officers Arrested Over Bribery Claims

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officials on Thursday arrested 4 police officers in Meru for allegedly taking bribes from bodaboda operators.

EACC detectives arrest four police officers in Meru county after they were caught receiving bribes from boda boda operators.

KTN reports that a bodaboda operator reported the officers to the EACC team after they asked for Ksh 5,000 from him.

The officers, alongside their OCS were arrested with over Ksh14,000, collected from different bodaboda operators and motorists.

Upper Eastern EACC boss Ignatius Wekesa confirmed the arrests to The Nation.

The arrest comes four days after the EACC regional office was opened in Isiolo. The office will serve Tharaka-Nithi, Meru, Isiolo, Samburu and Marsabit counties.
