18:00: Uhuru ends his speech.
18:00: The President notes that many Kenyans wanted a Constitutional change inform of Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) "but a few individuals sat down in a backroom and decided otherwise.”
17:29: The Head of State states that the Kenya Meat Commission is currently making the Ksh1 million from Ksh 8,000 daily, since being militarised. He added that farmers are also paid in 72 hours from the 4 years that it used to take in past.
Uhuru defended the move to involve the military in state corporations because of their leadership and discipline.

17:16: Uhuru reiterates his government's endeavour to uplift the health sector. Mentions that construction of hospitals and the Universal Health Coverage program has seen Kenya being ranked third most improved in health in Africa.
16:50: "Under my administration, some areas have received tarmac roads for the first time, since God made Kenya. My administration has constructed roads more than any other administration," the Head of State noted.
16:46: The President will confer city status to Nakuru on Wednesday, December 1.
16:32: Uhuru states that his administration has multiplied Kenyan's GDP.
"In 2013 Kenya was Africa's 12th wealthiest with a GDP of Ksh4.74 trillion in a span of 123years, in just 8 years my administration has multiplied the GDP to Ksh11trillion. Kenya is now ranked 6th wealthiest nation on the continent from 12th wealthiest nation in Africa.
16:20: The President appreciates Kenyans for adhering to Covid-19 restrictions. "Kenyans gladly sacrificed for the good of all. During the Mashujaa Day celebrations, I lifted the curfew and lockdowns."
16:12: Uhuru lauds KRA for exceeding their limit and collecting tax beyond the set target.
16:08: He reiterates that the Central Bank of Kenya is reviewing the Ksh1 million withdrawal threshold to allow firms and individuals to expand their businesses
16:02: Uhuru underlines that despite the pandemic, Kenya's economy grew by 0.3 per cent in the first quarter, 2021. Real GDP recorded a phenomenal 10.1 per cent growth in the second quarter of the year.
15:53: The President revisits decisions that necessitated him to impose nationwide curfew and travel restrictions. He also recalled the stimulus programs he unveiled to cushion Kenyans and several companies from the effects of the pandemic.
"We also supported education through funding, hiring of teachers and construction of new desks."
15:48: Uhuru's speech centres around three thematic areas, the state of the country's Economic Development, Social Structure and Nationhood/Nation Values (captures the state of democracy therein).
15:43: Uhuru states that Kenya is greater than any person and everyone should push for unity, build bridges and heal Kenya.
15:38: Both house speakers read Standing Orders, allow Uhuru to address the nation.
15:20: Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro castigates Uhuru, says that he has read too many speeches during the State of the Nation address but less implementation has taken place.
"He should address the economy as Kenyans are poorer and angrier, and Pandora Papers, KEMSA scandal. The President promised to address Pandora Papers comprehensively, and address his involvement."
15:00: President Uhuru Kenyatta arrives at Parliament, inspects the guard of honour.
14:37: Deputy President William Ruto arrives at Parliament after his allies were locked out from Uhuru's event. The DP was received by both the two Speakers at Parliament.
14:26: Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader, Raila Odinga and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed arrive at Parliament.

13:00: Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen claims that there is a plot by pro-Uhuru allies to lockout politicians aligned with Deputy President William Ruto.
He stated that "Very petty on the part of my colleagues in the Senate leadership to lock out Senators supporting the Deputy President from the event. They should remember Article 132 of the Constitution requires President to address Parliament, not Baraza la Azimio ya Kieleweke."
In observance of social distance and the Public Health Act, only 27/67 Senators were invited to the session that will take place in the main chambers of the National Assembly.
Out of the 27, only 1 Ruto-allied Senator, Aaaron Cheruiyot (Kericho), made it to the list by virtue of being a member of the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC).
12:50: Kimilili MP, Didmus Barasa vows to abscond the event.
12:45: MPs and Senators begin arriving at Parliament to attend the event.
11:00 Military warm-up and begin preparations for Uhuru's eighth state of the nation address.
Uhuru is expected to speak on various issues, from the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), taxation, foreign loans, the Covid-19 pandemic.
He will also address Kenya's economic growth, insecurity and the realisation of the Big 4 Agenda and the Vision 2030.
Pundits argue that Uhuru may also speak on his exit from office in 2022 and the succession race, but call on Kenyans to foster peace and posterity.
