Alfred Mutua Promises Ksh1 Million Wedding Loans in 2022 Manifesto

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua on Sunday, December 5, unveiled a bag of goodies for newlyweds while launching his manifesto ahead of the 2022 General Election.

Speaking while unveiling the Maendeleo Chap Chap party Manifesto 2022, Mutua promised Ksh500,000 to Ksh1 million to newlyweds. The amount would be payable in 20 years at 0.5 per cent interest.

The governor noted that newlyweds were neglected by various administrations that have previously been in power. Mutua stated that the youth usually break the bank and ultimately go broke and are left with huge debts after the wedding.

Mutua went on to address various issues affecting the youth- noting that his administration would be the solution for the country's crisis.

On the issue of unemployment, he noted that he would create 5 million new jobs for youth in the first three years of his Presidency.  Further, he would focus on the pumping funds to the entertainment industry, for it to become a major income earner in the country.

On matters education, he would enable free capacity building for teachers where they would undergo training for the new Competence Based Curriculum (CBC). He added that his government would ensure students access education from primary to university for free and that teachers and all education professionals would be paid in proportion to their level of service or work done. 

He unveiled a bag full of goodies for the youth, noting that his government would prioritize their needs.

"All youth who turn 17, will have their Identity card, PIN, Passport, NHIF and NSSF lodged and processed which they will receive within a month of their 18th birthday," Mutua stated.

Regarding manufacturing, Mutua noted that he would build new factories in all constituencies which would receive a three-year tax relief. He also promised to set up Special Economic Zones within counties.

On matters graft and wastage of public resources, Mutua who served as government spokesman during President Mwai Kibaki's time noted that those found guilty would go to jail. He also promised to fund the Judiciary effectively and establish courts dedicated to graft to expedite hearing and determination of cases.

Mutua is serving his second and final term as governor of Machakos and has declared interest in succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta as Kenya's 5th head of state. He joins a growing list of presidential aspirants who are charming the electorate with all manner of promises, as the clock ticks towards August 9, 2022.
