Emergency service providers rushed to the scene to rescue the injured as police sealed the area.

Ng'ang'a stated that the injured passengers were rushed to Rachar hospital and the Muhoroni Subcounty hospital.

Marshals were also deployed to man traffic at the accident scene.

The accident comes barely six months after another Climax bus from Nairobi overturned at Sachang'wan on February 27, after losing control.

Statistics by NTSA released in June 2022 indicate that 1,912 people died in road carnages since January this year with the road safety agency expressing fears over the increase in the number of accidents as compared to 2021.

NTSA blamed the rise of road carnages on reckless driving.

The Traffic Amendment Bill (2021) which was ascended to law by President Uhuru Kenyatta moved to curb public transport  required that all drivers and conductors  undergo compulsory testing after every two years to ascertain their competence.

In addition, the bill fronted that all motor vehicles older than four years must avail themselves for inspection and licensing.
