Residents of Saika near Kayole estate, Nairobi County witnessed drama this morning when gangsters engaged police officers in a fierce gun battle.
The suspects are said to have been idling in a car near the estate, allegedly casing potential houses to rob.
Police, suspicious of their intentions, approached them and asked for identification.
It is then that the robbers drew out their guns and started firing.
According to The Nation, four of them died after they were shot.
One suspect escaped with gunshot wounds.
Kayole OCPD Ali Nuno said three guns were found on the suspects.
Investigations have began into the incident as police launch a man hunt for the suspect who escaped.
