Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja saved Deputy Rigathi Gachagua impersonator Zakaria Kariuki, alias, KK Mwenyewe from deferring from his university studies.

Kariuki, on Saturday, October 29, announced that Sakaja had cleared his tuition fee balance of Ksh10,900 a day before the payment deadline.

"After I posted my issue on fees, many of my fans offered to help. I want to thank Sakaja for paying my fees. Thank you and God bless you all.

"All I can do to repay this gesture is to continue entertaining you through my content," Macharia remarked.

According to Zacharia, he would have been forced to call off his semester if he failed to clear his tuition fees before October 30.

The comedian had shared a copy of his fee structure indicating his balance. He noted that against an invoice of Ksh29,400, his family managed to raise only Ksh15,500.

He added that he was yet to receive his disbursement from the Higher Educations Loans Board (HELB) which he, like many other students relied on.

Kariuki took to social media asking for financial assistance in case the allotment was delayed.

KK Mwenyewe shot to fame overnight with his on-point mimicry of DP Gachagua. He became an internet sensation and was invited as a guest on leading entertainment shows.

Kariuki is currently a third-year student at Kisii University taking up a bachelor's degree in Computer Science.

Notably, he is the second youth to rise to fame riding on the character of the DP. Ivy Chelimo rose to fame for coining his recently adapted nickname - Riggy Gee.

The country's second-in-command traced her down and offered her a job in his office.
