A middle aged man in Koita Village, Bomet was found dead after committing suicide by hanging himself.
The man was found hanging on a tree in his compound.
Residents speculate that the man could have been driven to his death by guilt, after he allegedly murdered his girlfriend just two weeks ago.
The two had been living together when they got into an argument after which the man allegedly used a knife to stab the lady.
He then hid her body and went into hiding.
Police had been looking for him in connection to the murder.
Area Chief Stanley Towet said the body was taken to a morgue at Longisa County Hospital.
Police have started investigations into his death.
