A family in Meru County on Wednesday received the shock of their life after funeral home attendants told them that their kin's body could not be found.
The family had gone to pick the body of Grace Mbui that had been lying at Meru Funeral Home from last Friday when they received the unlikely news.
A grand daughter to the deceased told the Nation that they were informed that the body had mistakenly been given to another family.
"We called one of the families which confirmed they had buried the wrong body,” she said.
The family reported the matter to the police and demanded the funeral home to cater for all expenses surrounding the whole process, including that of exhuming the body after receiving a court order.
