Eliud Kipchoge

Described in the world of athletics as the greatest marathoner of all time, Kipchoge has won in all race categories he has participated in.

When he won the Berlin Marathon on September 24, Kipchoge set history by becoming the first athlete to win the marathon five times.

He had previously won the 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022 editions.

2023 was a good year for Kipchoge. In May he won the Princess of Asturias Award for sports for 2023, awarded by the Spanish foundation.

In a feat that may never be replicated, Kipchoge has won 16 out of 19 marathons he has competed in.

Kipchoge is credited for coining the “No Human is Limited” mantra.

Describing his success in the tracks, Kipchoge explains that running to him is more than just an act of physical movement.

“Running means something much greater than that. Running is a vehicle that has the power to unite us,” he opines.

Apart from his prowess on the track, Kipchoge is a passionate environmentalist.

The decorated athlete has partnered with the government to plant 250,000 trees in the Kaptagat forest.
