Mutahi Ngunyi

Mutahi Ngunyi is a renowned political scientist in Kenya. His main competence areas include strategic reviews, policy research, evaluations, and short-term studies. 

Arguably one of the most sought after political analysts in Kenya, Mutahi has often not disappointed with his political predictions, some of which have come to pass. He is credited with coining a cocktail of words that have defined Kenya’s political scene.

Mutahi has taught in a number of universities in both Kenya and Europe. He has taught at the University of Nairobi (UoN), Scandinavian Institute for African Studies (SIAS) and University of Leeds as the visiting Research Fellow. He also taught at Institute for Policy Analysis and Research as the Associate Research Fellow and the University of Helsinki, Finland. The political scientist has consulted & worked for over 15 African countries. 

Mutahi has been at the forefront in 2020 pushing for the development of talent by offering young Kenyans opportunities to exercise their acquired knowledge and skills particularly through Fort Hall School of Government. His brainchild - The Fifth Estate - has given Kenyan audiences a cocktail of news analysis (often controversial) often hosted by young minds; men and women.
