Some of the children of former powerful politicians made their debut in politics, while others defended their seats.

These young politicians, braved the bruising battle to send home seasoned politicians in the just concluded election.

A host of former governors who served in the first term were seeking to revive their political careers in the concluded election.

Wafula Chebukati noted that the IEBC will continue updating Kenyans as it verifies the results.

"I hope our people will be patient as we wait for the other one, but we only hope that no monkey game will be played up there."

Her main competitor, Dennitah Ghati, of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) garnered 117,597 votes.

A number of politicians from the larger Nyanza region defied the 'Orange Wave' to beat their ODM counterparts.

The MP-elect stated that he was not on the run as reported by a section of the media.

Bondo and Turbo, however, are both the larger Rift Valley and Nyanza region, which are perceived as Raila and Ruto's strong hold.

While issuing a statement, the ODM politician lauded his supporters for according him the opportunity to serve since 2013. 

The MP was wanted in connection with the murder of his opponent's aide.

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission had declared and handed over certificates to candidates who have won the gubernatorial race.

He was declared the winner of  the Eldama Ravine parliamentary race after garnering 32, 492 votes. 

Omtatah was able to win the seat despite the strong dominance of ODM in the county.

The third-time MP threatened ODM's dominance in Kisumu County.

Wanga goes down in history as the first female governor in the Nyanza region.

"We are here with Margaret Wanjiru of UDA, so it is not just our side," Shebesh ranted. 

The IEBC Chairman is now rushing against time to ensure he declares the winner within the stipulated time.

The information on the flagged Twitter handle had claimed that the former Prime Minister had conceded defeat.

"We have learnt of massive subtle rigging scheme that took place in the 33 constituencies of Mount Kenya."
